Nisbets needed to strategically review their property footprint to ensure a LT solution for their warehouse, retail and office accommodation. Nisbets had encountered unexpected growth, their headcount and inventory projections predicted they would outgrow their current space and they needed immediate additional storage to alleviate the increase in stock causing overflow.
We performed a comprehensive logistics network review and uncovered ways to prevent unnecessary spend in the short and long term by developing a space relief solution to prevent sourcing offsite storage and additional stock keeping costs. This involved increasing the storage density in pick faces through alternative shelving and racking solutions and redesigning inbound receipt flow configurations and stock management solutions.
Following our logistics network studies, we presented Nisbets with a cost/benefit analysis on the suitability, strategic fit and logistics cost impact for several scenarios including inhouse and outsource options, Greenfield or Brownfield sites, splitting the office and warehouse requirements, automation and alternative locations.
