Colliers International was engaged by the Tasmanian Government to assist in the development and marketing of an Expression of Interest (EOI) to seek private investment for the Cradle Mountain Gateway Precinct.
The EOI process called on suitable organisations to develop a new high-quality alpine village at the Cradle Mountain Gateway, located on the edge of UNSECO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA).
Ensuring a high standard of visitor experience in the Cradle Mountain Gateway Precinct is of the upmost priority to the Tasmanian Government to encourage visitors to stay longer and return to Cradle Mountain in the future and provide a positive economic contribution to North West Tasmania and across the state. The Gateway Precinct is the access point to Dove Lake and the departure point for the world famous six-day Overland Track walk.
The opportunity to partner with the Tasmanian State Government to deliver an iconic tourism experience follows one of the largest government infrastructure investments into a national park in Australia with contributions from both State and Federal Governments more than $85 million committed by both State and Federal Governments to the Cradle Mountain Gateway Precinct.
Services included the preparation of a detailed Marketing and Promotions Strategy, high-quality innovative marketing materials and the development of a set of selection criteria that allowed for the comparison and assessment of investment proposals which varied substantially in scope, complexity and level of investment and which provided for a range of business operators from small tourism ventures to large scale operations or developers.
